May 17 -18 Regent Honeyeater Survey. Chris Armstrong will be searching the Durikai Forest for Regents this weekend. One was seen there a week ago. If you would like to join him, email or ph 0410 619 808. See BA website for survey sheet.

June 7-9. Albert's Lyrebird Weekend. Leader: Ray Licence 07 4661 5229, email. Join us for some or all of the outings. Please let Ray know if you are coming.

Saturday 7th June
7.00am: Depart Queen Mary Falls Caravan Park to visit Moss Gardens and Teviot Gorge along the Spring Creek Road. If time permits a visit may be made to Wilson’s Peak with a walk into the National Park starting from the Boonah / White Swamp Border Gate.

10.00 – 10.30am: Meet at the Spring Creek Cafe at Carr’s Look on Spring Creek Road for morning tea.
Lunch individual arrangements.

2.30pm: Depart Caravan Park to visit Acacia Plateau area. This excursion follows the QLD/NSW Border along the Acacia Plateau Road. The last stage of this road is an old forestry track which may not be suitable to 2 wheel drive vehicles. Return to base 5.30pm.

7.30pm Talk and Power Point Presentation. Conservation of the Regent Honeyeater and the Swift Parrot in NSW. Kathleen Davies, Threatened Species Officer, NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change. (to be confirmed.)

Sunday 8th June
7.00am: Depart Caravan Park to visit sites along Gambubal Road.
10.30am Morning tea at Arborlee Rainforest Retreat, Sue & Clive Savage, Sunday Plains Road off Gambubal Road. Phone 07 4664 4074. Gambubal Road begins from Mount Colliery and anyone not familiar with the location of the Arborlee Retreat should obtain directions to this venue. Please bring a contribution for morning tea.
Lunch: individual arrangements.
2.00pm: Depart Caravan Park to visit sites along the Condamine River Road/Condamine Gorge.

Monday 9 June.Free.

Accommodation: QMF Caravan Park Phone: 4664 7151. There are several cottages in the Condamine Gorge: Adjinbilly Cabins, ph 4664 1599; Oakleigh Cottage B&B, 4664 7161.

May 18. Hampton High Country Food and Arts Festival. The Ravensbourne and District Landcare Group has a display including a bird ID competition to test your skills. Prizes donated by BASQ. Click for more information.

Youth Climate Action Toowoomba, Condamine Alliance and Condamine Catchment Association invite representatives of BASQ to a Toowoomba and Region Environmental Round Table on June 4. The aim is to encourage young people to get involved in natural resource management and environmental activities in the local area. Anyone interested in representing BASQ please contact the secretary.

The Stock Routes Coalition is a group of organisations who have come together to have the NSW and Queensland Stock Routes declared ‘Protected Corridors for Travelling Stock and Biodiversity’, managed by the current managers and adequately resourced with supplements from public funds.
