Birds Queensland Meeting 7:30 pm Thursday, 7 Feb. Guest speakers are BASQ members Bob Sutherst, Evan Cleland and Greg Ford. The topic is about stock routes as ‘Reserves for Travelling Stock and Biodiversity’. Visitors welcome. Location: Royal Geographical Society's’ Rooms at 237 Milton Road – just opposite the Milton train station. Parking available in nearby streets. The Birds of Southern Queensland — research and conservation. This is the theme of the Annual Conference of Birds Australia Southern Queensland, to be held from 8:50 am to 5 pm Saturday 8 March 2008 at University of the Sunshine Coast, cnr Sippy Downs Drive and Stringybark Rd, Sippy Downs (UBD 78 M17). Papers will be mainly about the birds of Southern Qld. The program will be published progressively on the website. An Atlas workshop will be run by Andrew Silcocks (Atlas Coordinator) assisted by Chris Sanderson (Atlassing in the Regions Project Coordinator). There will sections for beginners and advanced atlassers.) Birds Australia President Alison Russell-French, and CEO Graeme Hamilton will take part in the conference. A program of bird outings is being arranged for Sunday 9 March, starting from the recommended accommodation at the Forest Glen Resort (Cabins, Caravans, Camping). Early bookings advised. March 21 -24. Plans are being made
for a bush camp at the Tandora Wetlands Nature Refuge for Easter. The
